Jones is back again, providing more cinematic, nuanced creations, just like on his debut EP, "a beginner’s mind". This time, he introduces 80’s drums, jazz instrumentation, and vocals into the mix of electronic textures. Although technically a vocal track, The Head is very much instrumental; Jones’ vocals pull influence from James Blake and Daft Punk to interact like another instrument in flow with electric bass, guitar, flute, saxophone, and synth.
The Head is a song that was completed by the request of Steven Jackson's mentor Jack Bomher. A song worked on and finished within a week to be released on Bomher's label Dead Sage, for the second volume of his holiday compilation series, Looking Stones. The 4 minute genre bending soundscape is now being released on Jackson's label, Simply Being Records.
